Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer: First Impressions

The highly anticipated Bobbi Brown concealer finally dropped on their website and I just could not contain myself; 1. I left my Maybelline concealer in Mallorca 2. I haven’t tried much of their products and was pretty intrigued by the brands claims.

As I have previously mentioned, I suffer badly from sleep deprivation consequently causing me to have extremely bad under eyes. I find that nothing truly covers up my black and blue bags.

What it claims: One swipe, this highly-pigmented concealer covers completely, feels like nothing and instantly brightens dark circles. The non-drying formula helps balance skin’s natural moisture levels for a supple, more comfortable feel. Plus, the long-wear formula is water-, sweat- and humidity-resistant all-day coverage that won’t crease or settle.

I ordered directly from the Bobbi Brown site – to have the full BB experience and the generous 15% off for new customers. This is genuinely a real first impressions as I have tried this product just once, today. I did my makeup as usual and did no activities out of the ordinary. The concealer was tested through the heat, rain and a typical 9-5 working day.

The packaging as a whole is pretty standard, much like the Nars radiant creamy concealer (which I wasn’t a lover of). The only significant difference is the applicator. The sponge tip on the end of the wand is very unique and not one that I appreciated today. I found it to pull the skin under my eyes and left a rather tight and uncomfortable feeling.

The product itself is very thick and I feel it’s almost drying! In fact, after just today’s use (and I must emphasize, you can’t fairly review a product in just one day) the product performed almost opposite to the claims the brand has made.

All day I felt my makeup was not looking quite right and the creasing was fairly evident by 2pm today. Please keep in mind, this is not a fair judgement on the product and I will continue to use for the next week or so to come to a full conclusion on the product. I usually find that my favourite products are ones I have not liked on first review.

  1. I thought it was a bit drying and thick. Probably good for blemishes but i would never use it around my eye area. I have too many lines as it is and i don’t want them to be emphasized at all.
I use the Guerlain Multi Perfecting concealer and its beautifully light weight and creamy and still opaque enough to hide the blueness under the eye area. It’s a must have. It’s a hydrating blurring formula that is perfect for under the eye area. Thanks for the review because i now know it’s not just me that thinks its a bit thick in formula.
