Mini Drugstore Haul

When I say mini, I really do mean mini. Usually I can’t contain myself in Superdrug but I didn’t feel very inspired during my last visit. Some of the products I picked up were necessities and others were unexpected, exciting little finds..

L’Oreal True Match Foundation – 5.N

This is supposedly the best drugstore foundation out there and somehow I had never tried it – baffling right? I basically ran out of foundation (you’d know that if you read my product empties post) and was in desperate need to purchase a new one. Usually I would repurchase one of my favourite high end ones but I thought I would step out of my comfort zone. After about a weeks use, I am happy with the product but would not go as far as saying it’s as good as Nars Sheer Glow – that stuff is magic in a bottle! I am content with the amount of coverage and longevity but I feel like it sits on top of my skin rather which can be uncomfortable.

Overall, I am glad that I have finally tried this cult product but would not repurchase.

Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer – Light

This is actually a repurchase and the fact that I have purchased this product almost every time I have stepped into a drugstore really tells me something. This is the best concealer I have every tried, it beats MAC, Nars and Dior. Why would I stray from a product that does the job exceptionally well? I suffer badly with dark circles and blue veins and this product manages to conceal and correct the discolouration; I usually find that concealers can make my under eyes look grey.

To conclude, I would recommend this concealer to anyone. It’s fool proof and looks incredibly beautiful on the skin.

Elf Blush & Bronzing Powder – Fiji Matte

Now this is where things get exciting..I had heard that elf was beginning to appear in shops around the UK, but I was yet to see a counter. When I finally came across the stand I was a little overwhelmed by the products displayed. The packaging of this product is very reminiscent of Nars, and everyone is a succer for Nars packaging. The component feels great quality, considering the price, and the powders are very soft. I am yet to play with this product so comment below if you would like a full review!

Elf Matte Lip Color – Natural

How can I test a new makeup brand and not include a lip product? I am always drawn to lip products because they are my absolute favourite part of my collection. If I find an affordable lipstick that I love, then I will most likely buy every shade; but for now I just chose the one. Of course a neutral colour (like the name would suggest). The component of this product doesn’t feel as nice or well made as the powder duo but I am yet to test the actual product. It does swatch beautifully, however I wouldn’t call this a matte product as there is a little sheen. Again, if you would like an in depth review and swatches, please comment below.
