Product Empties

You know it’s going to be a bad day when you attempt to apply your foundation and no product is left. I can’t be the only person to ignore when one of my products is almost empty; each morning hoping that there is a little drop left, just to postpone me having to order a replacement. It suddenly occurred to me – when my favourite concealer ran out – that having backups of your most loved makeup is not a bad idea (I just had to learn the hard way).

Laura Mercier Lip Glace – Sparkling Daiquiri Limited Edition

If you told me a year ago that I would completely use up a lipgloss, I would have laughed and told you that was an impossible task. Yet, here I am, one year on and scraping the tube of my favourite lipgloss. This was a limited edition lip glace from Laura Mercier, the first lipgloss I have ever truly fallen for. I admittedly have small lips, but they feel so plump and non ashamed when I apply this product.

Would I repurchase?

I would 100% repurchase this product, unfortunately it’s limited edition so I can’t however I am open to trying one of their other shades.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan – Mirage

This is the most boring, non exciting coloured eyeshadow but it’s one everyone makeup enthusiast will have in their collection. It will almost certainly be the first type of shade they hit pan on in a palette. I find that this exact shade is so perfect swept over the eye for my skintone.

Would I repurchase?

No doubt about it! That’s what is so great about single eyeshadow pans, you can just replace it with a new one.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder – Java

Again, so basic but so ”can’t live without”. The Anastasia kits really revolutionised the way we look at contouring and were basically the first brand to offer refillable face powder. I use Java more for bronzing rather than contouring and I find it is one of the few products that doesn’t ever look muddy.

Would I repurchase?

I would repurchase this however I would probably test out a different contour kit first such as; Kat Von D and Nip+Fab.

LA Girl Pro Conceal – Natural

I bought this concealer as Shaanxo raves about it all the time, plus it’s extremely affordable. I had a load of difficulty trying to work out my shade but managed to settle for Natural. I have mixed feelings about it; when my skin is a little dry, I can’t use this or my under eyes will crease heavily but I do find that it works well when my skin is a little more forgiving.

Would I repurchase?

I would most likely not repurchase this as I have tried better, just as affordable concealers.

Marc Jacob Genius Gel Foundation – 34

I went on a college trip to Paris and saved a load of money to spend in Sephora. As you can imagine, your first time being in a Sephora is extremely overwhelming. I had a list of things I wanted to purchase (mainly products we can’t get in the UK) and the Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation was top of the list. With all the excitement, I purchased the wrong foundation. I only noticed that it was wrong when I applied it. It was far from full coverage. I was a little saddened and really neglected the foundation for the first few months of owning it. I would only use it when my other foundations ran out. Even though I have used it all up, I do continue to have mixed feelings, some days I like it and others I am unsure why anyone would spend the money on such little coverage.

Would I repurchase?

Although this is not a bad product, I would not repurchase as it is very underwhelming – considering the price tag.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation – 5.0

I got colour match more or less that day I came back from my holiday – not the smartest decision I ever made. Compared to my average skin colour, the foundation was just way too dark and I found that it oxidizes quite a bit. That’s about the only complaint I have for this product. It’s absolutely amazing and I don’t believe it gets enough attention! It is extremely full coverage and last all day and night (as the name would suggest). I would recommend this for events and evenings out but I would insist you buy the shade lighter.

Would I repurchase?

Most definitely! The best full coverage foundation I have ever used. I would highly recommend to all skin types.
