As summer is vast approaching, I thought it was quite adequate that I featured this little gem. The Jouer lip topper in Skinny Dip was brought to the scene by some of our favourite vloggers, since then the product and the brand have seriously launched.
Perhaps the brand of 2017? Possibly, but for now let’s concentrate – not on their beautiful highlighters – but on this particular gloss, topper hybrid.
Before I owned this product I didn’t really see the point; isn’t it just a glitter lip gloss? No. In fact I was so wrong. This product is a category of lip product all on its own. The lip topper is designed to go on top of liquid lipsticks.
I don’t know about you but gloss and liquid lipsticks can get messy real quick, but this product glides on effortlessly without disturbing the base. The formula is non-sticky and pretty weightless unlike some lipglosses. It also helps to prevent the feeling of dryness you can sometimes experience with liquid lipsticks.
As I’m not too gifted in the lip department, this helps me achieve the illusion of fuller more ‘succulent’ lips – who wouldn’t want that? The glitter particles in it are non abrasive and almost undetectable to the touch. This topper will provide a hint of shimmer that is truly mesmerizing. Skinny dip works great on top of pink and nude liquid lipsticks, not so much my style on top of a red! Now this is advertised as a topper for liquid lipsticks but the description also states that it can be worn alone; I did attempt this however I did not like it on its own at all.
The topper claims to be long wearing, however I do feel the need to reapply it every so often. This isn’t exactly a negative in my books as I would reapply most of my lip products throughout the day but I can understand why this would be an annoyance to some. Another thing to keep in mind; the scent is extremely sweet. Again, this is a major plus in my books but this could be offensive to some people. Overall I would recommend this product as it’s been a staple for me and it smells amazing too!
